This course continues to refine the skills you are learning to better grasp Cascade in UDK.Volume 2 of the Cascade Beginner’s Guide starts by taking you through the entire process of building your first Health Pickup particle FX, adding smoke and a light ray to the pickup, and testing it in game. Then, we move on to the basics of Flipbooks and fire, go over how to create a smoking rocket trail, creating a lightning ball effect, and wrap up with some bonus materials on improving flippbooks using After Effects.Be on the lookout for Volumes 3 next week, where we will continue with lessons covering the Orbit Module, ribbons, optimization, swirls and vortexes, and even create a flaming sword FX from scratch!
