The Looping River of Lava!
We all know that models require UV coordinates to map image textures, right? Well, did you know that we can also animate a model’s UV coordinates? Thanks to the AnimAll addon that’s included with official Blender builds, the process of animating UV coordinates is simple.
What You Will Learn
In this video we will explore the conveyor-belt-method for looping an animation of flowing lava. Instead of using a bulky movie file as a texture, we’ll start with a single elongated texture map that is seamless (or tiled) on both ends. Two keyframes and a displacement modifier later and you will have a believable river of lava!
