Description:
Let’s create the ultimate AKM and let’s do it the right way. At the end of this course you will be equipped with powerful skills and knowledge in hard-surface weapon creation. No fast forwarding or skipping any parts and full commentary on every step until we have the perfect model in front of us.
For that you’re going to learn how to make a proper scene setup, defining the right size of our AK followed by the actual low poly and high poly modeling process in which every single piece requires us to make use of clever modeling techniques to get the perfect results.
Once the low-poly process is in its finishing stage we are going to work on our high-poly model to ensure we get the perfect baking results later down the road.
Software used: 3Ds Max 2016
Important: the modeling part of the tutorial makes heavy use of the “chamfer” modifier which is only available in 3Ds Max 2015 and 2016. If you have an older versions of 3Ds Max you can instead google for a third party modifier called “quad chamfer”.
