Originally, I wanted to cover UV mapping and baking in this video as well, but I quickly realized that low polygon modeling deserves its own volume!
In these videos, I’ll go over how to make optimized meshes that will work well for UV lay out, deformation, and normal map bakes. Although specific software usage is not discussed, the foundation skills detailed here can be applied anywhere.
Also included is a free, generic female model complete with UVs in .obj format. The model is ~3.5k triangles and demonstrates many of the ideas discussed.
